i patched a hole and i dont want it to be noticeable do i have to pant the whole wall or just around the patch? ....i know i could try it but im going to get the paint and need to know how much to getCan i paint a square in my wall or do i have to paint the whole thing.?
It won't be noticable as long as the new paint matches the original colorCan i paint a square in my wall or do i have to paint the whole thing.?
It does not really matter how old the paint is. If you try to paint a spot on a wall even if the paint is a week old and you have the same paint you will get some flashing (a different shade). If the paint is fairly new you could try to feather it out to blend in.
Seeing you are going to buy the paint you should go ahead and get a full gallon it does not cost much more then a quart. That way no matter what you do you will have spare paint for future fixes.
Now you will need a few coat of paint so after priming and painting the first coat (the patched spot only) you will be able to tell if you will need to paint the entire wall or just one more coat on the effected area. This is all personal preference / how much work you feel like doing.
Hope this help!
if you have the pant the wall was panted with you can . but if you going out to buy the pant you should pant the wholewall beclause you mit not match the pant. a pt. will pant it.
If the wall was just recently painted it should be alright, but if not, you will need to paint the whole wall so that it will match.
