I want to do a painting on one of my bedroom walls. I was either planning on doing a beach scene or a field of wildflowers... which one would you do, if your room was completely purple?
Also, where can I get a kit for a paint-by-numbers scene? I'm not very good at free-handing.
Thanks!I want to paint a mural on my wall...?

there is an inexpensive projector called a tracer that will project any picture up on the wall. find the artwork you like, have a color copy of it made (keep your original for backup as the copy can get pretty abused), project and trace it on your surface and start having fun. This also works well if you have parts of several pics you want to use as you can change the image size by moving the tracer closer or further away. If the original is bigger than 6X6 consider putting a grid on the art and the wall and only doing a portion at a time to keep the perspective correct. Remember the vanishing point of any mural should be eye level when standing in front if it, otherwise it either encroaches on the room or seems lilliputian. have fun!
Beach and purple don't really go together so the wildflowers would be best. If you really want to do a mural, find your picture, rent an overhead projector, project the picture on the wall and trace it out. Then paint it in whatever colors you want. I have never seen a paint by numbers kit that could fill a wall. And the paint you would use on the wall has to be wall paint and not art paint.
Find a picture you like and print it on a transparency:

Check your local library or school to see about renting an overhead projector and the draw the design on the wall with a pencil and paint away!
BTW I would do the beach scene since the wild flowers would probably disappear on the purple walls and the beach scene would be easier(less detail).
you could rent a projector and do an evening scene since your walls are purple

wild flowers, it lends to more colors to be used.
Use an opaque projector to shine your picture on the wall for a sketch.
Make it something you like cause you have to live there... good luck!
