How much should it cost to have a 1600 sq ft home painted one color, walls,ceiling,trim?

I think you might be stunned by the cost..I had 3000 square feet and I checked on the price of having just 3 rooms done--and I was purchasing the paint...I had three contractors come in and the cost was over $1000 for all three and the prices varied widely. I have painted every house we have ever owned and simply HATE painting...but I hate paying to do something I can do..so I bit the bullet and did it myself. If you consider doing this..and since you are painting all rooms the same color you might think about buying one of those Wagner paint sticks...they are fantastic and make quick work of the walls and ceilings. Of course doing the trim is always the worst job...if you take your time doing the prep work and I am a person that has to tape off carefully...but I always get a good professional job by doing so. I'm sorry to not answer your question dircetly. But I know that it will be expensive. I also know that you should hire someone to do the work. It will cost alot more but from the sounds of your question, I bet you don't paint much. Professional painters can make a house look so much better than non-pros.
