my son stained the 3 walls with ball point pen ink i used hair spray then mr.clean then gone off but nothing worked.everything just removed the paint and walls r looking ugly.as i sprayed everything on wall the liquid went down on heater made it ugly too.now the landlord wants me to paint whole room. as i went to home depot she advised me to just scrape the areas of ink and then use primer but im not sure if it will match the rest of the walls or not.i have already spent time and money on it. i dont know if spending more time and money is gonna work or not.wat should i do?If i paint areas of ball point pen ink will it works and matches the whole wall or to paint the whole wall?
It sounds to me as if the only way to really do a good job is to repaint the whole room. If you just ';spot paint'; you will be able to see those places on the walls. If you match the color of the paint well, just one coat should do it.If i paint areas of ball point pen ink will it works and matches the whole wall or to paint the whole wall?
gently wet sand the ink areas (wet sanding is wetting a fine grained sheet of sandpaper and sand an area), careful not to sand deeper than the coats of paint, or else you'll rub off the texture of the wall. you can then primer the sanded areas with a stain killing primer, but the problem you'll run into is the topcoat will be shinier in the areas painted over the primer. the best thing to do is primer the wall, then match the existing paint of the rest of the room. then again, if you paint the 3 walls, you may as well paint the whole room. that's the best way to take care of it.
