Low Tack masking tape from a DIY store - like normal masking tape only the glue isn't as strong and it peels off easily without leaving marksWhat is the best way to get a straight line of 2 colours of paint on my walls in the corner?
Try using blue painter's tape.
Masking tape.
use blue masking tape, it seals edge of tape better than regular masking tape, paint stores carry it, home depot or lowes.
Pencil the lines in and use masking tape...
Use masking tape. This is the only way to get a clean straight line and it is easy to use. Good luck.
For the corner and side areas, paint as close to the edges as you comfortably can, then mask the areas where you don't want the paint to go with newspaper. Attach it to your wall with strips of masking tape. The tape will define the clean outline that you are after. Once the paint is dry, gently tug at the masking tape strips, and slowly peel off.
You shoul use some painter's tape. It's blue and you can buy it at any hardware store.
stick masking tape around and then you have a line to follow
i saw a trick on a design show where the person used a spackle tool as a guard
use masking tape and the result will be perfect
Day 1 Paint the walls with the lightest colours first. I presume you are using emulsion so there will be about 4 hours between coats apply your second coat of the lightest colour.
Day 2 Now this paint should be dry enough for you to use the masking tape the blue low tack one or stencil tape - otherwise get a small brush called a fitch and use that make sure you have a damp cloth and you can wipe any smudges you may make while applying the darker colour
Many people use masking tape. Wait til one side is very very dry before taping it to paint the other side. I prefer to use a painting pad. It is hard to go wrong with the pad. Very easy to make a straight edge in the corners and at ceiling edge.
