My apartment needs decorating, but we can't paint the walls?

We just moved into an apartment.. its not very big... and the landlord says that we can't paint the walls. As of right now, its pretty boring looking. Just wondering what I can do to the walls to make them less bland. Decor, wall hangings, anything at all... I'm not very good with interior design, so any website with pictures would help tons! Thanks! My apartment needs decorating, but we can't paint the walls?
Use your furnishings to add color to the rooms. Use colorful throws and pillows in the livingroom. Decorative mirrors are always a good accent piece as well are plants, paintings or any kind of artwork. Can you change the lighting fixtures, adding some unique lighting might spruce up the place. There are so many things you can do with the place. Choose an accent color for each room. For example, suppose your bedroom walls were white, you could use red as an accent color, a red and white bedspread, red and white curtains. Don't look at the wall color as an obstacle, think of it as a challenge, you'll be suprised how much color can be added to a room without paint. My apartment needs decorating, but we can't paint the walls?
You can still have colors without painting. Use colorfull curtains. Use colorful toss pillows. Go to www.hgtv.com
sacrifice your deposit and paint the walls
If you want to do something pretty edgy, then there are a few spots online where you can buy stuff to fix up your apartment.

*Urban Outfitters. They have some wall murals that take up a good sized wall and they have Manhattan lights, hawaiian sunset, Paris lights, and world map wall murals.

*Wall-Pops. These are vinyl stickers that you can put on your walls. They come off easily and have examples.

Depending on what color your walls are, assuming they're white, you can always play up the furniture as this article describes.

I hope this helps!
can you use wallpaper?
You can buy different size canvases from Hobby Lobby or Michaels and paint them just a sold color.(no artistic ability required) That is a more modern look but adds a big punch of color. W/ the canvas you can make different brush strokes to add texture.

Or you can get a frame and staple fabric w/ bold prints or a solid color and hang in on the wall.

Go to hgtv.com and look for decorating an apartment. very helpful website.

Good Luck.
1. You can ';wallpaper'; with fabric. The way you ';stick'; it up is by using liquid starch (like they use for clothes). Soak the fabric (don't use real heavy fabric) in the starch and smooth it out onto the wall. When you need to remove it, just pull it off the wall and wash the starch off the walls. You can wash the fabric and use it again.

2. You could also get large panels of fabric and stretch them on stretchers (you can get at craft or framing shops) to add to your walls. Put them on the wall like panels inset into the wall. Here is a picture of what I mean, only the panels have other pictures and things in them, instead of fabric. Click on:

3. Or find a large picture with a scene of things you like. It will take up a lot of space, give you a color scheme for your room, and be a focal point so people don't notice the other ';un-decorated'; areas.

4. You can buy a pretty quilt and hang it. It covers and lot of space and adds color. (There are a lot of styles of quilts, so you may find one for any style you like...even modern.)

5. This has a neat idea -- with pictures!!

6. Here's another idea (use anything you want in the frames, it doesn't have to be botanicals.)http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/dc_furnishings_鈥?/a>
