Removing paint from wall without damaging plaster?

I'm stripping the walls in our house and the wallpaper has been stuck onto paint. However in some places the wallpaper is pulling off the paint so I'm going to have to strip it all in order to then paint the plaster. How can I strip the paint without damaging the plaster underneath?Removing paint from wall without damaging plaster?
Sand the areas where the paint has come off and then prime and paint.Removing paint from wall without damaging plaster?
Why would you strip the paint? If the wall is not smooth, plaster it. Then prime it and paint over it.

If you try to strip the paint, you will damage the wall. If it's a house built before 1950 you may expose lead paint. Just paint over it.
