You say you have a black dresk. Red goes very well with black. Paint your walls red and have black and white furniture and bed covers. Those colors look great together!
Try a taupe or cactus sage. Both will set off the coloration of your furniture and are easy to accessorize with this years new fashions and colors.
How about green? Its a soothing color and I think it goes well with the furniture you have I have a Malm bed and dresser too :)
